Financial / stock market this week – January 14
I wrote last week about two critical dates, January 8 (new moon in Capricorn) and January 11 (Venus square Uranus). US markets tumbles on both dates. Gold and Silver (both being ruled by Venus) hits all time high of $900 and $16 respectively on January 11.
On January 16, Venus (planet of stocks) is making sextile with Neptune. It is a positive aspect, and you can expect bulls to rule on that day. On January 20, Venus is in direct opposition with Mars.
All are wondering how things will emerge in 2008.Jupiter and Saturn have changed signs recently from fire signs (bulls) to earth signs (practical approach). Jupiter and Saturn are two big planets and their movement will have significant impact on current bull market. In entire 2007, Jupiter was in Sagittarius (sign of optimism in stock). Approximately all world markets saw great time in 2007. With these planets in practical signs like Virgo and Capricorn, bulls are feeling heat now. I don’t see any major change in scene in first half of 2008 but second half will have Saturn and Uranus opposition. That should lead to bearishness in markets.
Next week, we have three major aspects, full moon in Leo, Jupiter trine Saturn, and Mercury conjunct Neptune. These aspects will have overlapping impact this week too. Jupiter (lord of luck) is in trine (great mood) with Saturn (planet of security) on January 21. It indicates bulls will bounce back this week.
In conclusion, this week, market should consolidate. Week starting from January 21 have more critical aspects for markets. Most of them support bullish market trend. It indicates corporate earnings will be in-line of expectation.

Benazir was born on 21st June 1953. Her sun is near 29 degree Gemini. It is the same place Mars is under stress currently. Pluto is making opposition from her seventh house. I wrote about the stress for people born near 21st of any month last week. This is one of the examples. They are in stress this week too based on their Sun’s location. One more interaction between Mars and Pluto is pending. This interaction will happen on January 2. North node, hunger for something, will support Mars at this critical time. Having pressure to react on past events, Mars will move into Gemini this week, on January 31.
On December 24, 26, and January 2, Mars was (is) in opposition to the Sun, Jupiter and Pluto respectively. Any time you have Mars, Saturn, or Uranus in a hard aspect to Pluto, the potential for violence and threat to human life is increased. Benazir’s assignation happened just in middle of this transition. That makes condition in Pakistan really critical. Some of the US senators also showed concern about nuclear (Pluto) security in the region.
On January 6, Venus and Saturn will be on square. If you were born near 30 of any month, this will be a depressing moment for you.
Overall a action packed week ahead. If you were not born, or have ascendant near 22 or 30th of any month, you will enjoy the week ahead.

Venus is in Sagittarius now. It is very supportive to her. Venus in Sagittarius indicates that you are emotionally warm, outgoing and idealistic in your romantic and social dealings. . There is a strong need for freedom and you will not be rushed into romantic situations, preferring to make strong friendships before entering into any type of further commitment.
On January 6, Venus is making square with Saturn. It is depressing aspect for your love and fun area, especially if were born near 30th of any month. You tend to be on the defensive; as if you feared that the other person would make impossible demands of you.
If you are younger, you may feel like you are very unpopular now, with few invitations to parties. You may be stuck with a crowd that you do not want to have associations with, but feel that you must because of peer pressure. If you’re older, this is a period of examination during which you seek to make your relationships more relevant to who you are as a person. Other than this aspect, week seems to be quite positive. Taurus, Scorpio and Aquarius have most active chart at this time.

After ending their decline the prior week as Saturn turned retrograde, all stock indices rebounded fairly positively into Wednesday or Thursday of this past week. Major market saw average half percent gain as shown in table. The biggest moves of the week however were in the currencies, precious metals, and crude oil markets. All soared against the Dollar, with the Euro, Gold, and crude oil now approaching their all-time highs again that were recorded in November, within two weeks of when Mars went retrograde.
This week, we note that the Mars retrograde will move out of emotional Cancer and into more volatile Gemini on Monday, December 31. Mars will be in direct opposition to Pluto on January 2. Mars rules impulsiveness and Pluto rules passion. Both could drive market madly in one direction.
In the case of markets forming a top at this time, traders may want to concentrate on the Venus-Saturn square of Sunday, January 6. When Saturn coincides with a depression in values, that depression oftentimes lifts when the aspect separates. Venus rules values, such as stocks. But it also rules sugar, soybeans, copper, and currencies. Overall it indicates a depressive outlook.
In conclusion, we are in middle of Mars opposition to Pluto, Jupiter and Sun. January 2 could a volatile day.
